Phones
At long last I'm due an upgrade from my 4S and although I like the look of the 6 I see that the Android crew think it's shit.

Apparently Apple phones are two years behind it's Android counterparts, so what will I be missing out on if I plump for the 6 instead of the much vaunted Sony/Samsung/HTC models? Are there any actual major pitfalls of the iPhone or is it just brand envy?

A bit more depth than 'Apple is shit' please warriors....

Re: Phones
I switched from Apple to Android and have no regrets. However, I will say that the iPhone pisses all over the Android in terms of the music players.

Re: Phones
I won't buy a new smart phone. If you've got a good tablet then an expensive smart phone is a waste of money, and even if you don't have a tablet you have to wonder why you need to spend so much money on a phone.

I just get refurbished iPhones. They're a fraction of the cost of a new one and they do all I need.

Re: Phones
But basically

easy to use straight out the box, good operating "experience", slightly restricted and more expensive - iPhone

more fiddly and requiring more practice, good experience with the odd glitch, unrestricted and slightly cheaper - any of the top-end Androids

more fiddly, requiring more practice, unrestricted, some compromise on speed, memory and screen quality - middle-range Android

absolute fucking mystery to me as I've never had one - Windows phone

I've got an LG G3 which is a great phone but not without the occasional frustration. Great big high quality screen, excellent camera, decent speed, below average battery.

The world seems to think that the Google Nexus is the best compromise in terms of capability and price.

Re: Phones
All the top end phones from the main manufacturers are good bits of kit and you won't be upset with any of them as long as you don't get a faulty handset.

Joke, just looking for some advice, I'm more of a muso than a fono. I can advise what's the best music gear to buy but when it comes to phones I'm in the dark.

Re: Phones
It's YOUR phone. YOU decide what you want from it then see which model best fits the bill. Then YOU make the choice and get a phone that does what YOU want.

Or do you want somebody else to tell you what you want?
